How does it work?

Semester Enrollment

 

Our academy follows a four-semester system each year:

• Spring Semester: March – May

• Summer Semester: June – Aug

• Fall Semester: Sept – Nov

• Winter Semester: Dec– Feb

• Students register and pay at the beginning of the semester.

​

• Students focus on their chosen discipline—Kirtan, harmonium, or Tabla—throughout the semester.

​

• Semester Test: At the end of the semester, students take a test to evaluate their progress.

Program Assignment

After enrolling in a semester- 

​

• Students are placed in the program level that matches their skills by the Instructors and complete the full curriculum for that level.

​

Levels:

• Beginner: Just starting Kirtan or Tabla.

​

• Intermediate: Some prior knowledge; focus on technique and performance.

​

• Advanced: Experienced learners preparing for stage performances and advanced training.

Hands-On Learning

 

Students develop skills through structured lessons and practice:

​

• Kirtan & Tabla Training: Guided instruction in Kirtan, harmonium, or Tabla

​

• Skill Development: Technique, rhythm, raag, and performance

​

• Spiritual Connection: Understanding Gurbani and expressing devotion through music

​

• Supportive Environment: Personalized guidance and feedback to help every student progress

Assessment & Achievement

 

The semester ends with performance and evaluation:

​

• Stage Performances: Participate in Gurdwara events, community programs, or recitals.

​

• Assessment & Feedback: Teachers evaluate technique, performance, and Gurbani understanding.

• Certificate of Completion: Awarded to students ready to advance.

​

• Next Steps: Progress to the next semester and higher program levels.​​​
